When You're a Spiritual Entrepreneur and You Don't Want to Perpetuate the Same Systems, Business Advice is Hard to Find
When I started my healing business over a year and a half ago, it was hard to get business advice because so much out there felt like it was still perpetuating the same systems
It is hard to start and build a business when you are following a call to create something different. How do we create something that changes the systems instead of perpetuating them? A lot of business advice out there says you must do X, Y, and Z to have a successful business. You have to follow a blueprint.
But what if you want to create a new blueprint? What if what wants to be birthed through you is revolutionarily new?
Maybe as a healer you create a new pricing structure and model that creatively allows you to cater to more. You don’t want to follow the stereotype that healing is only reserved for the wealthy.
There can be a nervous system safety in following scripts and blueprints of what has worked before, countless times for people. Our nervous system and egos love security. The nervous system wants a guardrail that you can hold as you walk to new places. That tell you: “if you go down this path, don’t worry, this____ will be the result.”
This is one reason why people don’t leave the jobs they hate in the first place to start their spiritual calling business. Culture tells us that we can create security for ourselves by predicting outcomes- if we work for a corporation we can get a 401k and then go to work 9-5 every day, expect our paychecks for the same amount every Friday, and take a 2 weeks of vacation every year.
So leaving that predictability can be very hard. It’s hard to face the darkness of having no defined path in front of you. So some business coach that tells you “This is the path to follow!” can be very sexy. It can feel like following their path lessens the potential of the realities our inner children fear happening.
But that clinging to security is keeping us from hearing the voice inside of us that needs to be heard. The voice that has the answers, even though there may not be the security of something in the outside world being able to validate our heart’s call.
But I believe that that voice inside of us is the one that has the answers of how we can create a new dream. A society for us and our children and our animal and nature families that honors all of us, honors the historically oppressed, and isn’t run by the same outdated systems of domination.
That voice inside of you wants to do revolutionary work. We just have to listen.
This is why in my healing sessions and my spiritual entrepreneur+ creator community, Dreamweavers, my main focus is trying to help you hear your inner guidance. Outside authority can be sexy, but it won’t lead you to your highest path and work.
